I’m often asked what made me want to become a dentist. It probably had a great deal to do with the fact that for more than half of my life, I was embarrassed by my own teeth. Recently, my wife and I were looking through old photographs that go all the way back to our high school days (yes, I married my high school sweetheart). We began to notice that there was not one picture of me smiling where my teeth could be seen. Sadly, this was even true of our wedding photographs. After dental school, I was finally able to have my own smile corrected with porcelain veneers. What a truly life changing event. From then on I was hooked on cosmetic dentistry. I wanted to help everyone know the feeling of freedom and confidence that comes from being able to laugh and smile without hesitation. I feel particularly fortunate to have been in the field of dentistry during a period of enormous progress. Married for 24 years to wife Judy. They have three children Carl, Ashley, and Sydney. Dr. Schiro enjoys attending his children’s athletic competitions and other events. The family also enjoys snow skiing and traveling together. Dr. Schiro remains devoted to physical fitness with a regular routine of weight and aerobic training.
About Dr. Arturo Garcia, DMD
 | Arturo R. Garcia DMD, was born in Argentina. His parents moved the family to the United States soon after he was born. He is fluent in both Spanish and English. His mother, Nelida, was a dentist and a great influence in his life and career. She practiced dentistry in Argentina for 15 years and in the United States for 15 years. As such, Dr. Garcia grew up immersed in the practice of dentistry. Dr. Garcia has been practicing cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry for over 20 years and has placed thousands of porcelain restorations. He is a 1984 graduate of Temple University and a 1989 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He has also trained extensively at The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and The Center for Occlusal Studies He has written and lectured nationally on topics in cosmetic dentistry. He has consulted and lectured for Dental manufacturers like Global Surgical, Leica Microsystems, Bright Smile and others. Dr. Garcia has extensive experience creating beautiful, healthy smiles using porcelain veneers, no prep veneers, all porcelain bridges all porcelain crowns and dental implants. The amazing dental materials available today along with Dr. Garcia’s extensive training and experience allow him to create smile makeovers and full mouth reconstructions that are healthy, beautiful and durable which in many cases can be completed in as little as 2 visits only 4 days apart.Dr. Garcia also has extensive experience delivering all types of cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry using different sedation dentistry techniques including nitrous oxide gas (laughing gas), oral conscious sedation (taking a sedative pill) and IV sedation (provided by an anesthesiologist right in our office). He has successfully used these sedation techniques to ease patient nervousness and fears about dental treatment and helped thousands of people regain their smiles, their health, confidence and eliminate their dental fears.Dr. Garcia first met Dr. Schiro at The Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies Dr. Garcia and Dr. Schiro share similar passions for improving dentistry and helping their patients as evidenced by extensive training in advanced dental studies at LVI and other institutions. One of the greatest benefits of such advanced training and studies is meeting other dentists who are likewise committed to constant improvement and are perpetual students like Dr. Garcia and Dr. Schiro.
Dr. Garcia is married to Isabella and they have a beautiful 8-year-old daughter named Raquel. Dr. Garcia is fluent in Spanish and enjoys meeting people from different cultures. Dr. Garcia and his wife spend much of their time helping Raquel develop her 2nd and 3rd language abilities by helping her with Spanish, Indonesian and soon Mandarin Chinese!
